March 10, 2023 Update Information

Added a link to the NASSP on the organizations page.
Added a link to Phi Delta Kappa on the organizations page.
Added links to the British Columbia learning outcomes and integrated resource packages on the government page and on pages for the arts, English/language arts, foreign language, math, occupational education, physical education, science, social studies, and technology.
Questioned a listed link to NYCENet and various New York City documents from the New York and various subject area pages as the link appears dead. If anyone knows if the link is alive or dead or of good links to New York City frameworks documents, please let me know.

Created a new subject page called Other Areas for topics that do not fit into the subject pages already on the site.

Added a link to the National Health Education Standards to the health and the organizations pages (the latter is under the American Cancer Society listing).
Added a link to the new PTA National Standards for Parent/Family Involvement Programs to the organizations page and the Other Areas page.
Added a link to President Clinton's 1997 State of the Union Speech to the governmental resources page.
Added links to the Louisiana standards for art, English/language arts, foreign language, math, science, and social studies on the state and subject area pages.

August 25, 2023 Update Information

On July 22, an emergency situation arose involving my office within the Putnam Valley Central Schools. While the situation has now been largely resolved, it has occupied most of my time over the past month and kept me from doing bi-weekly updates on this site. I expect to have an update in place on or shortly after Labor Day and to continue regular bi-weekly updates thereafter. If any reader knows of any information that ought to be included in an update, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it. July 22, 2023 Update Information

Added an announcement from the National Science Teachers Association about their October 17, 2023 Electronic Town Meeting on the National Science Education Standards to the science page.
Updated the Maine, science, and math pages with a link to the state's Curriculum Framework for Mathematics and Science.
Updated the Michigan page and several subject area pages with information about the legislative revision of the school code that removed the requirement that districts adopt the state's core curriculum standards.
Updated the New York State frameworks links in the arts; career development and occupational studies; English language arts; health, physical education, and home economics; languages other than English; and math, science, and technology (put online by OCM BOCES) on the state and subject area pages.
Added an English/language arts framework to the Rhode Island and the ELA pages.
Added a new category for The Press to the miscellaneous resources page and put in links to coverage of standards from US News and World Report.
Added to the miscellaneous resources page, under the heading of Opposition, the locations of three sites (the Arizona Parents for Traditional Education, the Eagle Forum, and SchoolHouse Talk) that generally oppose the development of state or national standards.

July 12, 2023 Note: NYNEX, the phone company, had an equipment failure which took us and a lot of others down on July 11 at about 4:30 PM (with intermittent failures earlier in the day, as well). If you are reading this, it means they have fixed the problem.

July 8, 2023 Update Information

We were hit by lightning again - this time on Wednesday, July 3, at about 5:30 in the afternoon. And, once again, no one was hurt. But we lost some important electronic components to our system and the problem was not fixed until today. If you tried to get in but couldn't - that's the reason.
Added a link to the "Standards for Speaking, Listening and Media Literacy" from the Speech Communication Association to the organizations, English/language arts, and library media pages.

July 1, 2023 Update Information

Added draft standards in foreign language, science, and technology to the Arizona page and the relevant subject pages.
Updated the Arkansas page URLs to reflect a move of the DOE site.
Added several documents about standards to the Colorado page.
Revised the Delaware page (and the pages for English/language arts, math, science, and social studies) with links to the June release of the New Directions Content Standards on the Delaware Education Network's site. Also updated the URL for the Curriculum Consumers Information Service.
Added the Sunshine State Standards (approved on May 29) to the Florida page as well as to pages in the arts, English/language arts, foreign language, health, math, physical education, science, and social studies.
Noted that the recently approved New Jersey frameworks are not currently on line.
