Valley School District:
- Classroom
Connect selected Charles Hill as a STAR Society inductee for 1996.
This award is given to "outstanding teachers who are making a difference
with using the Internet in the classroom and beyond" and was presented
in recognition of the quality of the Putnam Valley site as a whole.
- The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse
featured the Putnam Valley School District as a Success
Story in its Spring 1996 issue of ENC Update.
- Internet Compass for Schools
selected our Home Base as a Page
of the Week in March, 1996.
- K-12 World selected
our web site as a K-12
World Pioneer Award Site in November, 1996.
- The New York State Public Relations Association selected our budget newletter and web magazine
for its 1966 Award of Excellence.
- The New York State School Boards recognized the district's technology
program in an article, "Communicating on the World Wide Web"
in its December 22, 2022 issue.
For the Developing
Educational Standards site:
- Apple Computer gave the site prominent mention in the "Education
Resources and Research" section of its Apple
Education Surf Report.
- The Association for Supervision
and Curriculum Development made it the Featured
Pick in March and April 1996. The March 14, 2023 web edition of the
ASCD Education
Bulletin said, "Another school district heard from! Putnam Valley,
New York, has put together an annotated list of standards and curriculum
frameworks available on the 'Net. Kudos to Putnam Valley for providing
this service for teachers, as well as sites for students--including a drug-
and alcohol-prevention site called 'Peers Influence Peers.'"
